Hi!

If any of you have been wondering why I suddenly dropped off the face of the earth it is because I have been busy doing a 'Small Business Management' course. This course usually runs for a year, but I've just completed the whole thing in 6 weeks

It was very intense.
Some of you may remember this journal
[link] a while back where I mentioned that I was thinking of opening a shop? Well that's what I'm going to do! I am in the PROCESS of doing so! Except it's not a 'shop' any more. It's a gallery. And it's not going to be just anywhere, it's going to be in The Rocks, Sydney (those of you unfamiliar with Sydney, The Rocks is a very historic, artsy, upmarket area in the centre of Sydney, literally in the shadow of the Harbour Bridge, with a lot of atmosphere and a HUGE number of people passing through each day, it's the absolute BEST place for this kind of business) and it's not going to be just any kind of gallery. It's going to be a Craft gallery!

My very own gallery.
Quite literally a dream come true.

I am, of course, extremely excited and absolutely terrified. this is by far the biggest thing I have EVER done. Thanks to the business course, which is geared at helping Low-income earners start up their own business, I have a very well put together 'business plan' which covers everything from financial projections to how the gallery will be run, and all sorts of interesting things, but it's still very intimidating... but I've never let fear of the unknown stop me before and I'm not going to now. This is the most amazing opportunity I've ever had and there is NO WAY I am going to let it slip away just because I'm scared I'll fail. There is no failure, there are only new opportunities.
So, I'm going to have a gallery. At the moment it is a very empty gallery. I need people who might be interested in placing their work there! And I am asking ALL of you to spread the word. Tell Everyone. Tell everyone to tell everyone. And if you're interested PLEASE send me a note.
So, this is how my gallery (My Gallery! *swoon*) is going to work. It's going to be an unusual gallery. I AM NOT GOING TO CHARGE COMMISSION, not one CENT of commission on peoples work. Instead the gallery will work closely along the lines of a craft market, you rent your space at a weekly rate (minimum of ten weeks) and after that the sales are all yours. Except with this one you don't have the tedium of sitting there waiting for someone to buy something, I'll do that for you

. You can come in as often as you like, you can change your display as often as you like, you can display artist statements and business cards to garner commissions, it will be your spot (within 'family friendly' reason

). I will have locked glass cabinets for Jewellery and other small and valuable items, I will have floor space available for people who need something more than a shelf. I will be very versatile.
My gallery (

) will be opening some time around the middle of June (I'll have a more precise date once I finalise the Lease I'm negotiating) so as you can see I have a lot of work to do between now and then. Feel free to shoot me any questions or send me a note if I've laft any glaring holes in my gushings.
Oh yeah... the name! I registered it yesterday, so it's official.
Artisan Craft pty. ltd.
Like it?

One other thing. I am in desperate need of money. Every cent I earn now is a cent I won't have to borrow! I'm not asking for handouts, but if there is anything of mine that you've been thinking of buying, now would be a really great time to do it!

Finished Items Currently Available for Sale
Visit My Etsy store -
[link] for some of my stuff, I have allso grouped all my 'For Sale' items into a folder in My Gallery
[link] if you want something let me know, if you don't know me well enough to buy it from me directly, I'll be happy to list it in Etsy or Ebay for you

I won't get offended, I admire your common sense!
Also keep an eye on my Scraps, I put a lot of my more 'mainstream' work in there, and that's all for sale

.
COMMISSIONS
I take commissions and I'm not picky!
Jewellery, Glass, Crochet.... Take a look through my gallery to see what I can do and realise that I'm willing to do it for you!

I am also perfectly willing to work from
your designs/drawings.
Currently, due to a severe lack of equipment, I cannot take any stone carving commissions - but I'm working on it.
Current Commission Status - My memory is atrocious, if you should be on this list, but aren't, then you must yell at me to jog my memory!

I have no DA commissions at the moment, but I want some!
My Ebay Shop
I also run an Ebay shop. I list some of my finished work there but the shops main purpose is to sell Precious Metal Jewellery Supplies. Silver and 9ct Gold Sheet and Wire in various guages. Some Findings and other useful bits and pieces. The real stuff, not the plated crap you see in craft shops. I also frequently do 'custom' listings for individuals with specific requirements. So if you need to buy some Gold or Silver I'm your Gal!

i very much enjoyed seeing your carvings on jade.
how about the quality of jade used in your *jade frond* piece?
it seems a very nice quality...any of it left?
how about proposing a shape?
Please tell about treatments of the jade. Is it waxed, coluored...?
As my entrance to jewelry i carved some local serpentine, which i -just like you mentioned didn't polish either. I might find some time to take pictures... pieces from 1980ies.

Have a good one-

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada, but I forget its name. It's a kind of big horse with horns. (USA)
A: It's called a Moose. They are tall and very violent, eating the brains of anyone walking close to them.
